Georges Media Tools & Merry Reporting · Effective August 4, 2026
Georges Media Tools (georgesmediatools.com) is the internal tool suite of Georges Media Group (The Advocate, NOLA.com, The Acadiana Advocate, The Shreveport-Bossier Advocate). Merry Reporting is the reporting application in that suite. This policy describes what data these tools access — in particular data obtained from Google APIs — how it is used and stored, and how to revoke access.
Information we access
- Google Analytics data (read-only). When an advertising client grants our analytics account access to their Google Analytics property, Merry Reporting retrieves the list of accessible accounts/properties and aggregate reporting metrics such as sessions, users, conversions, traffic channels, landing pages, and city-level geography. We do not access or store personal data about a website's individual visitors beyond these aggregate reports.
- YouTube Analytics data (read-only). Viewing and engagement metrics for Georges Media's own YouTube channels.
- Internal account data. For staff sign-in, the portal stores work email addresses, names, and hashed passwords.
How we use it
Data retrieved from a client's Google Analytics account is used for one purpose: producing that client's own advertising and content performance reports. We do not use it for advertising targeting, do not sell it, and do not share it with anyone other than the client it belongs to and the Georges Media staff who prepare that client's reporting.
Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Storage, retention, and security
Retrieved metrics are stored in an access-controlled data warehouse and retained while the client relationship is active so reports can show performance history. OAuth credentials are stored on secured company systems, are never shared, and are used only by the reporting jobs described above. Access to these systems is limited to authorized Georges Media staff.
Revoking access and deletion
- A Google account holder can revoke this application's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- A client can remove our analytics account from their Google Analytics property at any time, which immediately ends new data collection.
- To request deletion of previously retrieved data, contact us at the address below.
